Becoming a Substitute

Types of Substitutes:

  • Substitute teachers
  • Paraprofessional educators work under the supervision of a certificated or licensed staff member to support and assist in instructional and other direct services to children.

Requirements:

Substitute teachers must register with the Shasta County Office of Education prior to being eligible to work at Columbia Elementary School District. Upon clearance from SCOE, bring your yellow card, Driver License, Social Security Card, and Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion to the Columbia Elementary District Office for completion of payroll paperwork.

Sick Leave Policy and Form

Persons employed by the Columbia Elementary School District, who are not covered by a collective bargaining unit agreement, are entitled to rights to sick leave as outlined by the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014.
